Why hiring a journalist is the best

move a startup can make.

Young tech companies today face a brutally competitive landscape —

when you’re trying to breakthrough and get attention with your digital content,

it can feel like yelling into a hurricane. Contently Editor-in-Chief, Joe Lazauskas, will kick off the event with an opening keynote that reveals how one counterintuitive move — hiring a journalist early-on — can give startups an outsized advantage over their competition and the ability to punch above

their weight in the content arena.

Joe will lead a panel discussion with journalists-turned-content marketers including Wakefield Editor-In-Chief, Guy Cimbalo. Panelists will discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of content marketing within tech companies.

They’ll discuss maintaining ethics while writing for a brand, transitioning from editorial to branded content, how traditional journalism techniques crossover

to content marketing, and more.

How can a workspace remain inspiring, fun,

and flexible, while also supporting functionality, efficiency + productivity?

—  Hosted by LMHQ + PivotDesk, Kisi, and Managed by Q —

As the debate between the open work plan and the private office rages on,

this discussion will explore the failures and successes of office design today, and how it strives to find balance between the demands of the modern workforce. How can a workspace remain inspiring, fun, and flexible, while also supporting functionality, efficiency, and productivity? Hear from PivotDesk, a TechStars Boulder 2012 company that helps find room for growing businesses, rapidly growing startup DigitalOcean on how they found the balance between form and function, as well as Floored, on how the role of technology can help make real estate visually compelling, and from SHoP Architects, who are designing

cutting-edge, innovative workspaces.

Moderated by LMHQ — a new collaborative workplace asserting

the modern concept of a third place workspace.
